We saw him flip flop from demanding an immediate ceasefire to acceding to Putin’s demands. I sincerely hope that Zelensky and the European leaders who meet with Trump today will be able to successfully move Trump away from his post Summit positions but even if they do, what’s to prevent Trump from flip flopping again? As many reporters have noted, Trump has a habit of listening to the last person with whom he talks; Trump’s failure to maintain a strong policy approach to the situation in Ukraine likely means that the situation will remain unstable.
